Marge M. Palazzolo-Giusto, age 71, of Imperial, Missouri formerly of Connecticut passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born December 27, 1938 in Gary Indiana the daughter of the late Maria (nee Cattroppa) and Nickolas Sposato.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two husbands, Paul Thomas Palazzolo and Mario David Giusto as well as a sister Eva (the late Nicholas) Furicella.  She is survived by daughters Gina (Steve) Guglielmi of New Jersey, Maria (Steve) Cline of Connecticut, a son Paul (Dawn) Palazzolo of DeSoto, Missouri, grandchildren Lauren and David Palazzolo, Mario Guglielmi, Ryan and Joshua Cline, a brother Joseph (Carroll) Sposato of California and a sister Anne (Joseph) Maglish of Indiana. She was a retired secretary with the State of Connecticut and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Imperial. She was also a Lay Associate with St. Joseph’s Church and Redemptoristine  Nuns at Liguori, Missouri. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Friday, August 6, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Imperial followed by Mass at 12:00 Noon officiated by Fr. Ed Nemeth of St. Joseph’s.  Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Imperial.  Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.

Corey Adam DeClue, 26, of Festus, entered into rest August 3, 2010 in Green Cove Springs, FL. He was a 2003 graduate of Festus High School and was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 2006-2010, and had served in Iraq. He had received medals for Marine Corps Achievement, National Defense, Global War on Terrorism and Rifle Qualification Badge EXP. Born May 20, 1984, in Crystal City, to Kim (Mary) DeClue of Green Cove Springs, FL and Tracy (John) Stiebel of Festus. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Joshua DeClue of Festus; sisters: Tasha Stiebel of Festus and Johnnie Stiebel of Festus; and grandparents: Virgil and Anne DeClue of Herculaneum; several cousins; and many friends. Memorial service will be officiated by Rev. Gene Hinrichsen at Herculaneum United Methodist Church, 672 Main, Herculaneum, MO 63048 on Sun, Aug 8, 2010 at 3:00pm. Military Honors ceremony will be 10:30am on Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

David Rudolph “Rudy” Bass, age 64, of De Soto, Missouri, passed away August 4, 2010 in De Soto, Missouri. He was a Welder at a St. Louis Shipyard; also worked as a clerk at Chico’s Produce, De Soto, MO. Born June 10, 1946 in Bono, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Jess Bass and Alma M. Anna “Lorine” Cook, age 82 of Herculaneum, Missouri, formerly of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City.  She was born November 26, 1927 in Herculaneum, Missouri the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Irene H. (nee Sansoucie) Courtway.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her former spouse Gerald Cook, Sr., a son Christopher L. Cook, a sister, Mary Virginia Schwegmann and a brother, Charles Courtway. She is survived by daughters, Elaine M. (Keith) Werner of DeSoto, Missouri, Laura L. Mary Ellen Pursifull, age 30 of Hillsboro, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri.  She was born March 14, 1980 in St. Louis County, Missouri the daughter of Arnold “Gene” Pursifull of Licking, Missouri and Carlon (nee Diamond) Motsinger of Hillsboro, Missouri.  In addition to her parents she is survived by grandparents, Virginia Diamond of Hillsboro, Missouri and W.A. Motsinger of Bonne Terre, Missouri, sisters, Lara Lane of DeSoto, Missouri, Brenda (Troy) Spaulding of Crystal City, Theresa (the late Bryan) Lucas of Festus, Missouri, brother, Scott (Raegail) Motsinger of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.  She is preceded in death by her step-father, Charles Wesley Motsinger and a sister, Sara Ann Pursifull. Joseph J. Doss, 56, of Festus, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010 at his residence. He was a union laborer in the construction field. He loved fishing and driving his old truck. Born December 19, 1953, in St Louis to the late Lawrence and Jacqueline (Lobsinger) Doss. He is survived by his fiancee: Anita Cain of Festus, sons: Joseph M. Doss of St Louis, MO, Joseph Cain of Potosi, and Cory Cain of Potosi, daughters: Amanda (Tim) Johnson of Imperial, MO, Bobbie (Tracy) Hulman of Rockfield, KY, Mindy Cain of Potosi, MO and Misty Cain of Potosi, MO, brothers: Steve (Candy) Doss of Festus, MO, Tom (Donna) Doss of Viburnum,, MO and Ed Doss, of St Louis, MO, sisters: Angela Yates of Pevely, MO and Pam (Nick) Stonich of Waterloo, IL, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Dorothy Elizabeth (Hoeckle) Biehle, 89, of Festus, entered into rest Fri, Aug 6, 2010 at Des Peres Hospital. Born July 8, 1921, in Festus, to the late Franklyn and Dora (Wehner) Hoeckle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Biehle. Survived by daughters: Linda (Roger) Oliver of Festus and Sue (Dan) Short of Crystal City; grandchildren: Daniel (Karen) Short II of Festus, Lisa (Steve) Davis of St Louis, Ed (Lisa) Page of Festus, Mark (Colleen) Short of Crystal City and Elizabeth (Darren) Kempfer of Festus; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by three sisters and grandson, Michael Biehle Page. Her family fondly remembers her as loving her flowers, watching the birds and squirrels and she especially loved sweets and pastries. Service will be officiated by Rev. Dewey Johnston and Rev. Richard Carter.

Margaret E. (Hoffman) Schlueter, 86, entered into rest Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Festus Manor. Born December 2, 1923, in Texas, to the late Charles and Vanita (Saxton) Hoffman. She was a homemaker; she enjoyed reading and loved horses. Her husband, Henry P. Schlueter, preceded her in death on July 11, 2010. Survived by a son, Michael Schlueter of Barnhart; daughters: Charylette (Frank) Tidd of Festus, Vicki Waltman of Coal Valley, IL and Camille (Harvey) Fulton of Kansas City, KS; and numerous grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by daughters: Paulette Hendrix and Toni Sweeny; and a son-in-law, Edward Hendrix.

Opal Leona Bates, age 85 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her residence.  She was born July 1, 1925 in Festus, Missouri the daughter of the late Irvin and Laura (nee Boyer) Swyers.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Paul Bates 2/20/2004, five sisters, Adele (the late Theodore) Boyer, Isabell (the late Everett) Poggemoeller, Edna (the late Roy) Tindall, Omafern (the late Harold) Reed and Annie Swyers who died in infancy.  She is survived by a daughter, Debra Ann (Steven “Curtis”) Vaughn of Festus and a son Gerald F. (Juanita “Sue”) Bates of Festus, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She was a member of Church of Our Lady in Festus. Memorial Celebration Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 1:00 P.M to 3:00 P.M. at the Festus/Crystal City Conservation Club, Festus, Missouri.  Mrs. Bates gifted her remains to Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri.  Memorials preferred to Jefferson Regional Medical Center Hospice.

Lawrence B. “Larry” Hudson, age 74 of Barnhart, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at his residence.  He was born July 14, 1936 in Perryville, Missouri the son of the late Frank and Beatrice (nee Grey) Hudson.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Roxanne Waller, 2 brothers and 1 sister.  He is survived by his wife Erma ( nee Nipper) Hudson of Barnhart, two daughters Tammy (Richard) Lantz of Arnold, Missouri; Vicki (Ken) Morioni of Kearney, Missouri; sons, Randy (Beth) Hudson of Imperial, Missouri, Eugene (Andrea) Hudson of Arnold, Missouri, Mark Hudson of Hillsboro, Missouri, Glen (Sally) Mehere of Vandalia, Illinois, Joe (Celeste) Boyer of Imperial, Gary (Linda) Boyer of Coral, Michigan, Jim (Deena) Boyer of Gunthersville, Alabama and Rob (Yvette) Boyer of Alton, Illinois, 18 Grandchildren and Numerous Great-Grandchildren. He was a retired heavy equipment hauler with Teamsters Local #682. Wilma J. (Ramsey) Leslie, 72, of DeSoto passed away August 10, 2010 in Jefferson County. Born June 29, 1938, in Whitewater, Missouri, to late William S. Ramsey and Jessie (nee Lore) Arndt. Wilma was a CNA for Heritage Nursing Home and had previously worked for DeSoto Shoe Factory. She was a member of the DeSoto Assembly of God Church and she enjoyed painting and singing. She is survived by a son, Randy D. Armbruster of Licking, MO, a daughter, Rhonda S. (Donald) Britt of Russellville, TN; three sisters: Wanda Roderick of Mesa,Arizona, Linda Wright of San Diego, California and Sharon Harris, St. Peters, MO; two grandchildren: Donnie and Donna Britt; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Charles T. Leslie, she was preceded in death by a son, James W. Lane; five brothers: Billy Ramsey, David Ramsey, James Ramsey, Orville Ramsey and Norman Ramsey (Infant); and three sisters: Jeannie Anderson, Betty Meredith,and Thelma Meyers. Rev. He was a Groundskeeper at Jefferson College, Hillsboro, MO; also worked at Peeples Dairy, De Soto, MO. Born July 15, 1930 in Oakland, CA, he was the son of the late Frank and Elvira (nee Brownley) Jackson and Foster Parents Jason & Margaret Moore. He is survived by his wife Delores L. (nee Eaton) Jackson, De Soto, MO and Sons: James L. Jackson, De Soto, MO, Michael J. (Rebecca) Jackson, Hudson, FL; Foster Sisters:  Bonnie Duffner, De Soto, MO and Hazel Hardin, De Soto, MO; (preceded in death by foster sister, Mae Muzzey Manos). Anthony Joseph Quiros, age 78 of Crystal City, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his residence.  He was born June 25, 1932 in Crystal City the son of the late Ysidro Menendez and Mary Alvesa (nee Villagomez) Quiros.  He is survived by his wife Joan (nee Roberts) Quiros, a sister Diana “Dee” (the late Richard) Tipton of Crystal City, two daughters, Deborah (Jim) Unger of Festus, Missouri and Carol (Cris) Meyer of Festus, grandchildren Brian (Christina) Meyer, Megan Meyer, Amy Unger and Ashley Unger. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from the United States Postal Service and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crystal City.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1230 and American Legion Post #253. Born April 14, 1933 in Lakeside, Arizona, she was the daughter of the late John Clark and Ida (nee West) Hansen. Vada J. Skiles, 65, DeSoto entered into rest on August 12, 2010 in DeSoto. Born September 20, 1944 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Hattie Bell (nee Stalcup) Houston of DeSoto and the late Lyle C. Houston. She is survived by her husband, Harold Skiles, Sr of DeSoto. Vada was a machine operator at Siegel-Roberts Plastic Corporation. She enjoyed shopping, loved her cats and loved watching Emily's softball games. Mrs. Skiles was the mother of Harold Richard (Deanna) Skiles, Jr. of Imperial; dear grandmother of Emily, Bethany and Jonathan. Rev. Greg McCord will be officiating the funeral ceremony.

(Sara) Church of Festus, Missouri, 2 grandchildren Jeff (Lisa) Church and Lynn Church and 2 great-grandchildren, Lydia and Andrew Church. She was a beautician at Vera’s Beauty Shop in Crystal City and a member of First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City. Mrs. Shirley J.(Nee Phares) Davis entered into rest at her residence in Victoria. Shirley was born in Desloge Missouri to the late Charles and Cecil Mae (Pettus)Phares. She had retired after working as a seamtress for Sunshine Drapery in St. Louis. Shirley enjoyed sewing, collecting nick nacks and enjoyed spending time with her family. Shirley is survived by her sons, Fred (Kristie) Dannenburger of Grubville and Robert Nelson of DeSoto, Daughters; Melissa Nelson of DeSoto and Frederica Riley of Ashland. She leaves behind loving grandchildren, Amber, Andy, Haley, Justin, Cody, Chloe, Robert, and Raina, as well as two sisters; Sue (Mike) Davis of Colorado and Patty. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Osborne, Alice J. Hanna and a brother, George R. (Anna survives) Hanna.  She is survived by a brother Paul A. Hanna of Arizona; 18 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a retired medical x-ray technician for local physician Dr. Donnell, and an avid cat lover. Memorial Gathering at Fountainbleau Nursing Center on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.  Memorials preferred to Grace Presbyterian Church, Crystal City, Missouri or the Humane Society. Lowell W. Rush, 76, of DeSoto passed away in Crystal City on August 22, 2010. Born August 22, 1934 in Rochester, MN; he is the son of the late Milton and Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Herzog) Rush. His loving wife, Patricia A. (nee Nyga) Rush preceded him in death. Mr. Rush was a construction carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Local 2214 for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing and motorcycles. Mr. Rush is survived by a son, Steven (Darlene) Rush of DeSoto; two daughters: Stephanie (Robert Salvador) Rush of Ft. Worth, TX; and Sally (Ronnie Clapp) Rush of Potosi; one sister: Jacquelene Giordano, Wentzville; four grandchildren: Sarah, Jake, Samantha, and Michaela; and two great-grandchildren: Trey and Zoey Carrow. John J. Warden, Jr., 82, entered into rest on August 24, 2010 at his home. Mr. Warden was retired from McDonnell Douglas and had also worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards and loved his grandchildren. John was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Navy. He was born September 2, 1927 in Old Mines; the son of the late John and Mary (nee Bequette) Warden. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Juanita (nee Sansoucie) Warden. Mr. Warden is also survived by his three sons: Thomas (Connie) Warden, Cadet, Ed Warden, DeSoto and Rick Warden also of DeSoto; three daughters: Deborah Warden of DeSoto, Jackie (Joe) O'Hanlon of Old Mines, MO and Carol Sue (Dennis) Baker of DeSoto; a brother, Clyde (Jesse) Warden, DeSoto; two sisters: Theresa Osia, DeSoto and Verlaine Altmix of Arnold; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; many friends and neighbors. Maryann McGrath-Platt, age 62 of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at her residence.  She was born October 11, 1947 in Tucson, Arizona the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (nee Maye) McGrath.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Ridenour.  She is survived by her husband, Bryce Platt of Malden, Massachusetts, a daughter Mary Ann (David) Vaughn of Crystal City, Missouri, son Paul (Lalita) Parashak of Hixson, Tennessee, one sister, Paula (David) Seckendorf of Tucson, 6 grandchildren, Shiloh Burt, Daniel and Cindy Parashak, Cassie, Brent and Tana Vaughn and one great-grandson Jaxxon Vaughn. She was raised in the Catholic Church, a retired nurse and a member of American Mensa. Memorial Gathering at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, Missouri on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 5:00 P.M. followed by Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. officiated by Fr. John Kerber, Pastor, Church of Our Lady, Festus, Missouri.  Memorials preferred to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Matthew R. Eberhardt, age 32, died suddenly on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Festus, Missouri. Born on January 16, 1978, in Crystal City, Missouri to the late Joseph S. Eberhardt and Betty J. (Nee Pence) Eifert of Festus. In addition to his mother he is survived by a step-father, Kenneth Eifert of Festus, a grandmother, Hettie Pence of Pevely; brothers: Mark Eberhardt of Festus, and Tom Eberhardt of Festus; sister, Mary Beth (Michael) KcKay of St. Louis; step-sisters: Paula (Tom)Fitzgerald of St. Louis, and Kenna Eifert of Georgia; 3 nieces: Erin, Ann and Jessica, 1 nephew: Adam, and 1 great niece: Savannah . He was preceded in death by his father Joseph S. Eberhardt and his brother, Michael Eberhardt. Matthew was part owner of Riverside Home Improvement. In his time off, he enjoyed music, guitars and he loved hot rods. Reverend Jim Owens will officate the service under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home DeSoto.

Angela M. Parks, 54, of Festus, entered into rest Sat, Aug 28, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She had been employed as O.B. unit secretary at Jefferson Regional Medical Center for 20 years and was a member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Festus. Born April 27, 1956, in St Louis, to the late Delores E. Parks and George E. Alexander. Survived by her loving family which includes daughter, Lawanna Spicer of Crystal City; brothers: Olin Parks of Festus, Jeffrey (Laura) Parks of Urbana, IL, Doran Parks of St Louis, Chester (Melissa) Alexander of Festus and Dennis Bridges of St Louis; sisters: Cheryl (Larry) Houston of Festus, Kelly Parks of Crystal City, Shelly Parks of Herculaneum, Dianne Burdell of Festus, Rachel Alexander of Festus and Renee (Dwayne) Stayton of St Louis; and a grandson, Jadyn Whitehead. Her family lovingly remembers her as being a wonderful cook and she loved music and dancing. Rev Cletis Reed will officiate service.

Staff Sergeant James Roger Ide, V, 32, stationed in Germany (formerly of Festus) entered into rest Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Afghanistan. He was one of seven U.S. Troops killed over the weekend-Ide's unit came under small-arms fire from insurgents at Hyderabad. He was a Certified Dog Handler that trained bomb sniffing dogs and trained their handlers; he had served a tour in Korea and two tours in Iraq. His tour in Afghanistan was scheduled to end in October. His Christian faith was a large part of his life and he was very involved in his Church, Calvary Chapel, in Germany. Born December 26, 1977, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, to James R. and Colleen (Utter) Ide, IV of Festus. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Mandy (Cosper) Ide of Germany; son, James R. Ide, VI (age 16 mos) and daughter, Trinity Ide (age 7); brother, Jason (Michelle) Ide of Festus; sister, Christine (Julian) Gil of New Jersey; grandparents: Melvin and Dahlia Ide of St Louis; and his dog, a Belgian Malinois named Ddaphne that was always by his side. He was a 1997 DeSoto High School graduate where he enjoyed the sport of wrestling. Pastor Kirk Womacks will officiate service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Homes.

Thelma Marie Holst, age 78 of Festus, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010 at her residence.  She was born December 9, 1931 in Bonne Terre, Missouri the daughter of the late Arthur and Goldie (nee Williams) Mathews.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lindell Mathews and Curly Williams.  She is survived by her husband, Charles B. Holst of Festus, two sons Mike (Judy) Holst and Jim (Deanna) Holst both of Festus, two sisters Nadine (Dallas) Verble of Burbon, Missouri, Sissy (Bill) Martin of Potosi, Missouri, seven grandchildren, James, Jai, C.J., Falon, Amy, Denny and Deta, 11 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kristin, Paris, Trista, Zachary, Alex, Cody, Clayton, Caycee, Bryce and Gabby. Visitation at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral Services Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink of Festus, Missouri.  Interment Concord Cemetery, Bloomsdale, Missouri.  Memorials preferred to Concord Cemetery Fund.
