Florence E. (Overberg) McBride,
88, of Festus passed away on April 9, 2009, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center
in St. Louis County. Mrs. McBride was a seamstress for E&D Style Shop in Festus
and worked for M.E. A. A. as a manager for a senior center in Park Hills. She
was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary 253, VFW 1831 Auxiliary
and First Presbyterian Church of Festus. Born January 17, 1922 in New Baden,
Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Henry Frank and Lillian (Griesbaum)
Overberg. She is survived by one son, Dale Wayne (Brenda) Newcomer of French
Village; two daughters: Carole Jean Priest of Missouri and Sandra Ann Whaley of
Desloge; one brother, Jerry (Sandy) Overberg of Crystal City; two sisters: Ruth
Buechting of Festus and Ardelle Hill of California; seven grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial gathering is
schedule for 10 a.m. and a memorial service for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18,
at Mahn Twin City Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Bill Charlton. Memorials may be

Wayne E. Barbeau, SR., passed away at Potosi
Manor on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 28 days.
He was born August 15, 1942 in St. Louis; and was the son of the late Charles E.
and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Barbeau. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen
(Breedlove) Barbeau of Cadet. Mr. Barbeau is also survived by four sons:
Timothy (Linda) Breedlove, Arnold, Wayne (Lisa) Barbeau, Arnold, Michael Barbeau
of Cahokia, Illinois and Dennis Barbeau of Cadet; and one daugher Ruth (Brady)
Large of Cadet; ten grandchildren: Eric, Bradley, Joshua, Justin, Jessica, Cody,
Tyler, Madeline, Charles and Misty; two sisters: Patricia Guccione of St. Louis
and Gail Counts of Brandon, Florida. Along with his parents he was
preceded in death by one grandson, Ryan. Mr. Barbeau was a retired assembly line
worker for Chrysler Corporation. He served in the United States Air Force.
He belonged to United Auto Workers Union #136, and liked watching sports.
Funeral services were held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Wednesday,
April 15, 2009 at 2:00p.m. officiated by Chaplain James Teasley.

Brown. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray
King. She is survived by daughters: Susan (Gary) Gould of Festus, MO and Robin
(Bob Reinhardt) King of Corpus Christi, TX; and sons: Mike Sutton of St Louis,
MO and Charles (Wendy) Sutton of Decatur, AL; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great
grandchildren. Service was Thurs, April 16, 2009 at Mahn Twin City Chapel,
Festus, MO and burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Crystal

Larry Frederick Rude, passed away at
Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City on Monday, April 13, 2009.
He was born on October 17, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois; he was the son of Mary Ann
(Kirker) Rude and the late Craig Rude. He is survived by his loving wife,
Jeaneyl J. (Herman) Hazlett of DeSoto. Mr. Rude is also survived by two sons:
Dennis (Debbie) Rude, Illinois and Jeff (Kelli) Rude of Illinois and a daughter,
Kim Rude of Illinois; four grandchildren: Craig, Carrie, Rachal and Renee;
two sisters: Karen (Gary) Myers of Illinois and Linda (Bill) Noe of
Tennessee and one great niece, Lilian Helmes. Mr. Rude worked in the clerical
department for Catapiller Tractor Company in Peoria and Joliet, Illinois.
He enjoyed working model railroading, and was a partner with his wife in the
Channahon Animal Hospital. He served in the United States Navy during the
Vietnam Era, and was a member of the Flucom United Methodist Church in DeSoto.
Funeral services were held at the Flucom United Methodist Church in DeSoto on
Friday, April 17, with Pastor Steve Richardson officiating. Burial was in
the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials can be
made to the Paralized Veterans of America or the St. Judes Hospital for

Cherlene M. Aiken, passed away at Jefferson
Regional Medical Center in Crystal City on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the age of
78 years, 4 months, and 29 days. She was born November 16, 1930 in St.
Louis; she was the daughter of the late Arthur B. and May W. (Bracktendorf)
Hoff. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald O. Aiken of DeSoto. Mrs.
Aiken is also survived by two daughters: Susan (Ernie) Hammon, DeSoto and
Colleen (Bradley) Bischoff of Mineral Point; seven grandchildren: Bill,
Terisa, Daryl, Chris, Brittney, Mike Jr., and Dominque; seven
great-grandchildren: Timothy, Austin, Randall, Jacob, Jasmin, Cyrell and
Parker. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a
daughter, Kathleen Aiken, a son, Mike Aiken and a sister, Delores Fuerst. She
was a switch board operator for United Van Lines, a property manager in real
estate and a member of Hope United Church of Christ, DeSoto. She was also
a member of the Eastern Star and leader for Jobe's Daughters. Funeral services
were held on Saturday, April 18, at the Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto with burial
in the Sunset Memorial Park & Mausoleum in St. Louis. Funeral services

Bruce B. Evans,
25, of Crystal City passed away April 17, 2009 at his home. Mr. Evans was a
supply clerk at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Crystal City. He was a
member of New Apostolic Church in DeSoto, where he was involved with the church
youth group. He was an Eagle Scout, a black belt in tae kwan do and enjoyed
video games. Born May 3, 1983 in Crystal City, he was the son of Jesse and Elke
Evans of Crystal City. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother,
Nathan Evans of Crystal City; three grandparents, Betty Evans of Memphis,
Tennessee, and Lydia and Dieter Kohler of Germany; and a number of aunts,
uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held April 21 at New
Apostolic Church in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Karl Orlofski. Burial was in

Melvin H. Isaacson, 86, of DeSoto passed away
April 21, 2009 in DeSoto. Mr. Isaacson was an engineer with 3M Corporation and a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a veteran of
the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion in Kansas. Born April 15,
1923, in St. John's, Arizona. He was the son of the late Isaac and Linda (Lewis)
Isaacson. He is survived by two sons: Arthur (Virginia) Isaacson of Hillsboro
and James (Paula) Isaacson of Fort Scott, Kansas; one daughter, Pamela (Kirk)
Larsen of Alburquerque, New Mexico; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Isaacson of
Iola, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by one son, Preston Isaacson; two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral
services were held April 25 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
officiated by Bishop Ben Wright. Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa,
