Missouri. Born July 8, 1974 in Crystal City Mo. Survived by husband- Jeff
Sanders of Imperial Mo, parents -Chuck and Mary "Chris" Smreker (nee- Robinson)
of DeSoto Mo, son- Tyler Smreker of DeSoto Mo, son- Kaden Sanders of Imperial
Mo, daughter- Carlie Sanders of Imperial Mo, brother- Jim (Elissa) Bradford of
St. Louis Mo, sister- Christy (Jeff) Sweeney of Hillsboro Mo, sister- Charla
(Tyson) Duvall of Hillsboro Mo, grandparents- Charlie and Jean Smreker (nee Key)

LLOYD S. ''BILL' WILKINSON,
84, of Festus, passed away March 1, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in
Crystal City. Mr. Wilkinson was a maintenance worker with the Fox School
District for 14 years. He had formerly worked at a grocery store in
Fredericktown for 25 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in
Festus and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Born July 5, 1923, in
Fredericktown, he was the son of the late Abraham and Loucada (Childers)
Wilkinson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loretta (Mills) Wilkinson of
Festus; five sons: Billy Ray (Charleen) Wilkinson of Ianthe, Mo., Henry
(Wanda) Wilkinson of Arnold, Ted (Jane) Wilkinson of Clarksville, Mo., Charlie
(Janet) Wilkinson of Festus and Tom (Rhonda) Wilkinson of Manhattan, Kansas;
three daughters: Betty Ciolek of Affton, Ruth Grieshaber of St. Joseph and Nancy
(Terry) White of Ottowa, Kansas; a brother, Abraham Wilkinson Jr., of Peoria,
Illinois; two sisters: Rosemary Vaughn of Ste. Genevieve and Stella Parson of
Granite City, Illinois; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild. He was pre ceded in death by three brothers:
Kenneth, Woodrow and Glenwood Wilkinson and two sisters: Laura Bernam and
Bernice Marsh. Funeral services were to be held March 5 at Mahn Twin City Chapel
in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Leonard Himes and the Rev. David McCutcheon.
Burial was in the Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorials may
be made to the Gideon Society, P.O. Box 601, DeSoto 63020. Arrangements

Chris Harper,
48, of Hillsboro passed away March 3, 2008, in Hillsboro. Mr. Harper was a
vinyl extruder for Borden Corp. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling on
TV, working on autos and watching big truck competitions. Born May 29,
1959, in St. Louis; he was the son of Evelyn (Schneider) Haithcoast of Festus
and the late Raymond Harper. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his
wife, Rebecca (GoForth) Harper of Hillsboro; one brother, James Haithcoat of
Festus; one sister, Brenda Kay Harper of Festus; one stepsister Robin Marie
Thorne of Florida; two nephews: Joshua Wendt and Zachary Wendt, and four
sisters-in-laws: Carol, Judy, Donna and Brenda. He was preceded in death by his
grandparents: Eva Frances Colyer, Louis Dale Schneider and Mae and Owen Harper.
Funeral services were held March 7 at Mahn Funeral Home in DeSoto, officiated by
the Rev. Bruce Valle. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in DeSoto.

Velmer Holland,
79, of DeSoto passed away March 3, 2008 in DeSoto. Mr. Holland was an
assembler for General Motors. He was a veteran of the U.S. military and a
member of the Masons. Born September 27, 1928 in Arkansas; he was the son
of the late Narner and Darzie (Watson) Holland. He is survived by one daughter,
Donna (Terry) Grant of Mt. Zion, Illinois; two sons: Dickie L. (Cathy)
Holland of Hillsboro and Kenneth (Jonell) Holland of San Antonio, Texas; two
sisters: Debbie Holland of California and Verline Spears of California;
three brothers: Jim (Joan) Holland of St. Peters, Larry (Joyce) Holland of
Hillsboro and Vance (Janice) of Farmington; seven grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Virginia,

Elmo and Lucille (Patoma) Lingo. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Schilly)

with American Charter Bank. She was a member of Redeemer Luther Church,
where she was involved in the church's quilting group. Born Oct 21, 1908,
in Caledonia, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Willian H. and Ethel
(Martin) Yeargain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester
Scott. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews; and one
great-niece, Edith Anderson of Herculaneum. Funeral services were held March 15
at Redeemer Luther Church in DeSoto, officiated by the Rev. Mike Rose.

years of age. Born May 21, 1924 in Villa Rica GA. She was a retired hairdresser
and a member of Morse Mill Baptist Church. Survived by; daughter- Brenda (Ken)
Crews of Hillsboro MO, daughter- Sue ( J.R.) Hubbs of Salem MO, son- Dennis
(Cheryl) Mauzy of Hattisburg MS, grandson Marty ( Stacy) Crews of St Louis
Missouri. And great-grandchildren Mitchell and Samantha Crews. Also Survived by
7 grandchildren. And 11 other great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by;
husband- Lloyd Mauzy, sisters- Ruth Golden, Edna Gattis and Ruby Reynolds.

Mrs. Alden-DeClue was a teacher at Vineland Elementary School and a member of
St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in DeSoto. Born October 26, 1940 in Fort
Smith, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Henry Homer and Wilma (Blackard)
Ward. She was preceded in death by her first husband Wallace Joseph Alden.
She is survived by her husband Joseph N. DeClue of Claremore, Oklahoma; one son,
J ohn Stephen (Laura) Alden of DeSoto; three daughters: Lea Ellen (Todd)
Whitehead of Lamar, Missouri, Courtney (Christopher Cook) Alden of DeSoto and
Kay-Lynn Alden of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers Homer B. Ward of Ft. Worth,
Texas and Richard (Evelyn) W. Ward of Claremore, Oklahoma; two stepsons: James
Allen DeClue of DeSoto and Troy Joseph DeClue of O'Fallon, Missouri; one

71, of Licking, Missouri, formerly of DeSoto, passed away March 17, 2008 in
Houston, Missouri. Mr. Courtaway was a truck driver for Majestic Metals
Company. He was a member of the DeSoto VFW Post 1831 and enjoyed hunting.
Born October 24, 1936 in Tiff, Missouri; he was the son of the late Joseph
Courtaway and Anna Valle (Ray) Perry. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Joyce (Brock) Courtaway and one son, Jason Courtaway. He is survived by
four daughters: Tanya (Dannie) Pogue of Licking, Tina Usiak of O'Fallon,
Debbie Houghton of Chaffee and Anna (Steve) Wills of Jackson, Missouri; one
brother Bill Perry of Piedmont; two sisters: Blanche Anderson of Arnold
and JoAnn (Tony) DeClue of Arizona; 10 grandchildren and six

passed away March 23, 2008 in Festus. He was a laborer with G-Sell Concrete.
