She was a home Maker, and long time member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hillsboro Mo. She was the beloved wife of Walter Stromberg whom she was married to for 69 years. Born January 01, 1914 in St. Louis Missouri, he was the son of the late Jacob and Emma Haitz (nee Dauz). He was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Springfield IL. He was the Founder and Director of Bible and Literacy League now “Children of Promise International”, and Co-founder of Christian Outreach Church and Center in Hillsboro, Missouri. He was a published author and Missionary and spent time in12 countries namely India, Nigeria, and South America. He taught at the Christian Outreach School of Ministries and preached the gospel in mission fields around the world. Linn was a beloved friend, teacher, mentor, and inspiration to many. Haynes, 59, of Festus passed away Jan 31, 2007 in Festus.  Mr. Haynes was the proprietor of Haynes Auto Sales.  Born Dec 20, 1947, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Louis and Marie (Portell) Haynes. He is surviv ed by his wife, Debra (Byington) Haynes of Festus; a daughter: Angie Wallace of St. Louis; a brother, Ray Haynes of Moberly, Mo; four sisters: Joyce (Darrel) Bradshaw of Festus, and Chris Nicholas, Diane Retzler and Carol Faulkner, all of Piedmont; thre e stepsons:  Richard (Lisa) Haarmann of Cadet, David Haarmann of Bonne Terre and Tony (Susie) Haarmann of Bonne Terre; and 10 grandchildren. VERBALINE V. LINGLE, 81, FESTUS died Jan 3, 2007, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City. Mrs. Lingle was a homemaker. Born August 31, 1925, in Selmer, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Orval E. and Bell G. (Jones) Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lingle Sr.

Lillian E. "Betty" Simpson, 76, Crystal City, formerly of Herculaneum, died Jan 4, 2007, in Crystal City. Mrs. Simpson was a housekeeper at Festus Manor and a member of Buren Chapel A.M.E. Church. Born Nov 26, 1930, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Vonola (Brown) Kinder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Simpson.
She is survived by two daughters: Valerie (Charles) Wilks of St. Louis and Michelle Simpson of Festus; one brother, John Wayne Kinder of Festus; one brother-in-law, Elroy Bequette St. of Crystal City; two godchildren: Carl Michael Kinder and Linda Kay Bequette; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Jan 7 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Freeman Robinson. Joseph Grzincic, 85, of Crystal City died Jan 14, 2007, in Crystal City. Mr Grzincic was a Vice-president with Westinghouse. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a life member of VFW in Michigan. Born March 27, 1921, in Yugoslavia, he was the son of the late Anton and Paulina (Rutar) Grzincic.
He is survived by his companion, Ok-Hi Brown of Crystal City; three sons: Bobbie Brown of Crystal City, Keith (Karen) Grzincic of Detroit and Lee (Maria) Grzincic of Saginaw, Michigan; one daughter, Peggy (Darvin) Brown-Lemme of Crystal City; a brother, Tony Grzincic of Independence, Missouri; and seven grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mathew John Grzincic.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm January 18, at Mahn Twin City in Festus. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Friday Jan 19, at the funeral home, officiated by Elder Tony Grzincic. Burial is in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.

Gwendolyn J. Leach, 56, of Bloomsdale died Jan 17, 2007 in Bloomsdale. Ms. Leach worked as a nurse for 30 years at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and Crystal Oaks Nursing Center. She was a member of Job’s Daughters. Born Dec 16, 1950, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Billie and Dortha (Ivy) Leach.
She is survived by one daughter, Shanna (James) Zerwig of Ste. Genevieve; one son, Shawn Sextro of Arnold; two brothers: Bill (Paula) Leach of Murphysboro, Tenn., and Steven (Lisa) Leace of Georgia; one granddaughter; Soraya Zerwig; and her dear companion, Barbara Finley of Bloomsdale. Kenneth L. DePriest, 73, of Festus died Jan 22, 2007, at his home. Mr. DePriest was a welder with Stupp Brothers construction. Born Feb 19, 1933, in Qulin, MO., he was the son of the late Randolph and Mabel(Herrington) DePriest.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Norman) DePriest of Festus; one daughter, Judy Myers of Hillsboro; two sisters: Lillian Pride of Qulin and Dorothy Christie of Collinsville, Illinois; two grandchildren: Denetta (Keith) Gau of Hillsboro and Jason Crackel of Fenton; and four great-grandchildren: Brad Gau, Brittany Gau, Jacob Crackel and Jonathan Crackel.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, James DePriest.

Rosa "Rose" Hutson, 97, of DeSoto. She was born June 22, 1909 in Kennett, the daughter of Jefferson Davis and Lizzie (Hart) Hargrove. She was a member of Hazelwood Church of Christ.She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Wayne) Propst of DeSoto, Rosemary Hutson of Holts Summit and Janet Valadie of Tampa, Florida; two sons: Jerry (Sharon) Hutson of Olivette and T. Kane of Illinois; three grandchildren, Jerome A. Hutson, Andrew Hargrove Hutson and Brian Michael (Jennifer) Green; three great-grandchildren, Megan Ann Green, Rachel and Randy, friends, Ruth Downs and Marshall Brown. Stanley L. "Bud" Sweeney, 90, of Festus died Jan 25, 2007, in Ste. Genevieve. Mr. Sweeney was a newspaper printer and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Purple Heart recipient. Born May 16, 1916, in Black River, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles and Laura (Briggs) Sweeney. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor (Boehler) Sweeney of Festus: one son, Michael (Kim) Sweeney of Festus; two daughters: Colleen E. (Marty) Long of Bolivar, Mo. and Laura L. Frye of Festus; three grandchildren: Carrie (Daryl) Bradley of Monett, Mo, Brandon Frye of Monett, MO, and Brendan Sweeney of Festus; and two great-grandchildren: Garret and Gunnar Bradley of Monett.

He was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Charles "Jim" Frye.
