Douglas Marvin “Doug” Baker age 77 of Hillsboro, Mo.

 

Passed away February 9, 2006, at his residence in Hillsboro, Mo. 

He was born July 6, 1928 in De Soto, Mo.

Doug was a retired Major with the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department, 

Army Veteran - served during the Korean conflict, American Legion and V.F.W. member.

He also played with the band Creakwater Express, The Tom Roth Band and Marge Jackson Country Band.

Survived by wife- Rita J. Baker (nee Etzold) of Hillsboro, Mo.

 Daughter- Elizabeth (Jason) Morris of Belleville ,Il

 Daughter- Sarah Plyler of De Soto, Mo

 Stepdaughter- Robin (Alan) Sronce of Carbondale, Il

 Step son- Bruce (Joy) Weber of Ballwin, Mo.

Grandchildren- Michael, Cara and John Sronce and Alexander Pagel.

Preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Jane Baker (nee Manness) and his sister Hazel Lynn.

Agnes L. Bata, 77, of Festus, died March 8, 2006, in Hillsboro.  

Mrs Bata was a homemaker.  

Born Feb 24, 1929, in Valley Park, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Elizabeth (Jennings) Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, John Bata of Festus;  

two sons:  John J. (Jeanne) Bata of Arnold and Leslie J. Bata of Festus;  a daughter, Julia L. (Charles) Gardner of Hillsboro; 

a sister, Pearl Azeka of Michigan; and seven grandchildren: Meghan and Steven Gardner and Lauren, Allison, Justine, Amber and Ryan Bata.  

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Irene Belmont and Phyllis:  and a brother, Jack Henry Wilson.

Funeral services were held March 11 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Gene Moses.  

Burial was in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto.  

Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.

Howard E. Boyer, Sr., De Soto, MO, age 74, passed away on April 14, 2006. 

He was born on June 24, 1931, the son of Floyd and Agnes (nee Villmer) Boyer who preceded him in death. 

He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Sansoucie) Boyer, one son Howard (Deborah) Boyer, Jr., and two daughters Melody (Kenny) Bourisay and Marcey (Steve) Nichols. He was the brother of James (Betty) Boyer and James (Susie) Melton. His sister Christine Boyer preceded him in death. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. 

Visitation will be held Mon., April 17 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 10:00am Tues., April 18. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in De Soto, MO.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Elmer Bridges. 

Born the daughter of James A. Baker and Rose (nee Wilkins) Baker who precede her in death. 

She is survived by her son Bryan (Christine) Bridges of Lake St. Louis, MO, daughters Penny (Carl) Rende of De Soto, MO., Karen Bridges of Imperial, MO, Belinda Niswonger of De Soto, MO., and Lisa (Keith) Markley of Gray Summit, MO, brother Carl Baker of Ellisville, MO and sister Nellie Boatman of Springfield, MO.
